Ah the query letter, that terrifying yet necessary step towards publication. What is it about the very idea of them that render even the best writer shaken?
Over the last few days I’ve been working on my querying skills again. It’s been a number of years since I’ve written one let alone sent one, and so I’ve been doing a bit of research with regards to writing one and things to include.
I mostly like what I’ve come up with thus far, but I think I’m going to get a number of second opinions before I send anything out. I’m also considering using QueryTracker to help me keep track of everything.
I still have a bit of editing to go on the book but I’d like to send out before March or April. It’s all very exciting to get back into the habit of these things and I can’t wait to start sending out again.
